Six Flags Fiesta Texas has begun installing sections of SkyScreamer, the park’s new spinning tower ride for the 2012 season.
The images, posted to the Six Flags Fiesta Texas Facebook page and embedded below, show the first few tower sections being put into place. The spinning gondola that holds the ride’s seats has also been lowered into position, ready to begin testing when the tower is completed.
SkyScreamer will stand at some 200-feet-tall, and will offer a vertigo-inducing variation on the traditional “Chair-O-Plane” ride experience. Guests will be seated in chairs that dangle from the circular gondola, which will spin as it rises to the top of the tower, offering views across the park and beyond.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas promises that SkyScreamer will enable riders to view the San Antonio skyline from a “birds’ eye perspective”, as they spin at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour in a 98-foot circle.
